Song of the Week #54

Its here, its finally arrived. Some live gigs in Leeds. This Song of the Week is dedicated to the first of 2 gigs at Boom in Leeds this weekend, specifically tonight. At this point I’ll have also headed to see Kings of Leon on Tuesday evening. Were they any good? Who can say. If the answer is yes, then I’ll be putting them in a future blog. Today however, it’s all about the very best punk coming out of Philadelphia. The face-melting, heart-stopping, heavier than an atomic bomb, Jesus Piece.

I was particularly gutted to have missed them when supporting Terror back in 2019? Could have been 2020… Either way it was a stellar lineup, my friend and I headed there after grabbing a swift bite to eat and a pint elsewhere, only to find the stage not taken up by the almighty yanks, but instead some French industrial punk band (who’s name escapes me, sorry!). Terror delivered their usual timeless performance, but I was devastated that I’d missed the exciting up and comers.

This time round however, is different. The stage is set (presumably), I’ll be there bright eyed and bushy tailed (perhaps accompanied with a gum shield if I can find one). Cannot wait for this, and I hope you all enjoy the taster. Have a good weekend all!
