Song of the week #26 - ALEX’S TAKEOVER
Yes, I know what you’re saying, where’s my weekly dose of headbanging rock and roll?
Well you reprobates, it’s not always rock and roll that gets you in the Sinner’s mood. Sometimes it’s the euphoric feeling of a live event that you never want to end and the sensation in your body being part of the sway of the crowd. There are many times I’ve truly been touched by live music and the wave of emotions that come with it, but this track exemplifies everything for me. Music to us, much like our Gin, is an experience and one that should both create and evoke memories.
This week we bring you a local West Yorkshire lad turned international superstar DJ Hot Since 82 for a change of scenery away from the weekly rock installment; a genre known as deep house. This one is called “Like You”. The first time I heard this track I was in a converted underground car park, comfortably fucked, hands in the air and lost in the music. I’d never felt anything like it, almost like a coming of age into a new genre of music and a world to discover. If you’re a metalhead and you’ve never tried this type of music before it’s not the usual dance music that throws down a drop like its going out of fashion. This taps into your mind and plays with it, taking you into almost a euphoric trance like state where you just have to enjoy the ride, whether sat at home with a drink in your hand, out on a long drive, or out as part of the nightlife in your local city.
Don’t worry if this isn’t your thing then normal rock and roll service will resume shortly! But for now, a little taste of what this Sinner enjoys!
