Song of the Week #52
Well, would you believe that we made it? A whole year of blogs. Incessant ramblings about sweet naff all, whilst occasionally plugging our very delicious, moreish and refreshing gin - available in a variety of formats, bars near you in the West Yorkshire area, this website and on amazon. Hopefully it has provided a bit of an insight into what we are like as people behind the scenes, and hopefully has injected a bit of character into the brand we’re trying to create. It is honestly something that is lacking now in so many products the world over in our view.
Of course, sometimes putting a bit of individual character into something can look amateurish when trying to sell a more corporate product, or something that isn’t really consumer-facing in a B2B format. However, on the flip side in an incredibly saturated marketplace such as alcohol, the more remarkable brands are the ones with a bit of something unique going for them. Some, such as the Lost Explorer range of mezcal or patron tequila can focus on a truly premium quality of product and market a family of similar looking bottles that are all recognisable off the shelf. In our own field, we love what the Malfy brand of products have achieved, creating a simple, yet instantly recognisable bottle, with a select few delicious flavours available, rather than a set of 15 for the pubs and bars to choose from.
We, on the other hand, have tried to create something far more outrageous, that will resonate with a select group of people (hopefully all of you lovely folk), rather than try and become an all encompassing brand in a marketplace that Hendrick’s, Diageo, Bacardi and co are desperate not to lose a foothold in.
As usual, I digress. Point being that this little slice of musical retreat is something that we hope drives the SEO for our gin (basically pushes us up google’s rankings) because the website is always expanding and adding more search words (such as delectable, tasty, and incredible) to go alongside the words “Sinner’s” and “Gin”, and also allows us to be ourselves. It is quite nice actually, and I can’t see us giving it up - I’ll let you know when we hit SOTW #100!
So what does the next year contain for the gin and for this blogspot? Well, for the gin, we’ve got a few more festivals booked in - including the Whitby Goth Festival, and are looking at getting out into as many bars as possible, particularly rock hangouts all over the country! For this blog, hopefully it becomes less of me just plugging whatever comes to mind. We’ll be looking at a few guest spots over the coming years, a few themed months, and probably a few more pieces from Alex to boot!
Anyway, monologue over, back to the music! I really did rack my brain for what could have suited this week best, and what else could it be? Happy Platty Jubes all! Enjoy the bank holiday
