Song of the Week #17
I’ll start things off by saying I love Motörhead. Everything from the fast pace of the songs, the gravelly vocals and having the most universally loved, but baddest motherfucker on the planet as your frontman, it all adds up to a myth that will probably never die out.
There were so many choices for this Song of the Week, as I’ve been blasting the entire back catalogue at HQ. I was tempted to put something from my favourite album - 1993’s Bastards, fyi. The people who think the best Motörhead albums are the 79/80 trio of Bomber, Overkill and Ace of Spades haven’t ever listened to anything else from their extensive discography (although I will admit some albums are much better than others).
The criteria for picking this Song of the Week however, was simple - what song would you be blasting the loudest, while driving down a country road at midnight, fed up after a shitty day?
With that in mind, there was only one answer. Sorry, they’re called the classics for a reason!
